Little Rock
Jim and I sure had a lot of fun in Little Rock!
What a really cool town! It was cold and rainy, so naturally the farmer's market wasn't running, but that didn't stop us! Between rain showers, we took pictures as we ambled around. It was about an hour and fifteen minutes to the downtown River Market area from the campground here in Russellville. There's hundreds of shops along the riverfront, and it's nicely done. There's an indoor market just off the river as well, with aromas that are just heavenly! Fresh baked goods, smoked meats, cheeses, Indian and Greek deli's, a coffee shop, so much!
What really amazed us was the the traffic was so sparse that on several occasions, Jim was able to stop the Jeep in the middle of the road so I could get out and take a picture of something that caught my eye! We toured the State building, swung by the Capitol and the train station, walked along the river, and while walking we saw a sign for a huge RV show! Yep of course we had to go see what we might have missed out on! We left, about 50 units later, tickled to death that none of the competition had an RV we liked better than ours. Although we did see a couple of really interesting floor plans.
We found a fish house on the far end of the river that we decided to eat lunch at. It was terrific! A bit pricey though, lunch was fifty dollars, but worth it. We both had huge steaming platters of jumbo fried shrimp, hushpuppies and french fries. The shrimp had a spicy cornmeal batter on it, neither of us had ever tried it that way. Very tasty. The interior was fun, and they had some great blues playing in the background.
