Holding it all together

November19

Bright and early tomorrow morning (bright and early to Jim, means sometime after 10am) we are hauling the RV up to Springfield Missouri to the dealer.  Everyone cross all your fingers and all your toes that the damaged area doesn’t disintegrate on the road with all those hills and nasty curves!  I removed the duct tape holding it together. :)  Did I mention our umbilical cord (trailer brakes and lights) is too short with the new hitch install?

Hopefully Jim can get the tailgate off tonight, we can’t turn any sharp corners otherwise…. LOL  Does anything ever go like it’s supposed to?

Speaking of which, I decided to make a nice pan of lasagna for dinner, so I started my sauce early this morning, and just finished putting it all together and popped it in the fridge… only something doesn’t look right.  I have no idea what… but it just isn’t right.  Let’s hope it’s edible!

Still no sleep, the sleeping pills Jim picked up for me were all natural and just herbs… didn’t do a darn thing for me.  This weekend I will pick up some Tylenol PM and give that a whirl.  We do have Benedryl, but it makes sick when I take it.  I cop a major buzz and half my body feels like it’s a zombie and half of me feels like I’m bouncing off the walls.  A most unpleasant sensation… I’d rather not sleep. :)

The shrimp and salmon chowder was edible… just.  I won’t be sharing that recipe!  Blech!  I did try a enchilada casserole recipe that was super easy and not bad at all, for those lazy nights.  When I get it typed up, I’ll post it.

No sleep is a mess. I did that when I was 45. It took forever to get regulated. I finally had to cut out all caffine, go to bed exactly the same time at night and read, just allow myself no stimulation of tv or radio. I eventually set a pattern and now I’m like clockwork. Bed at 11:30 up at 7:30. try a schedule. I drink a small glass of port before bed to relax me and I fall asleep immediately. BTW, you’re NOT going to quit your blog when you go to NOLA, are you? Not allowed!!!

I have no trouble at all FALLING asleep… I simply can’t stay that way. It’s mostly bladder related. I wake up pretty much once an hour to use the bathroom.. after 4 or 5 times of that, I can’t go back to sleep. And no, I’m not diabetic :) .

    Nope, I’ll keep blogging :)

CJ, be careful of Tylenol Pm or Advil PM the sleep ingredient is Benedryl. I take only one a night and it just takes the edge off so I can sleep. When I was working, I was taking two which leaved me a little groggy!! Good luck.

CJ, How about limiting fluid intake after 4pm. Then maybe you won’t have to get up so often to use the bathroom. Worth a try. Diane in CT

    CJ,

I know you do not like doctors, but there is medication out there that will stop the bladder spasms that wake you up and you will be able to sleep after about a week. No caffiene, no orange juice, no grape fruit juice and if you drink sodas, no soda with color — don’t ask me why but it works. All of these will decrease bladder spasms and also will make a big difference. i have fought the same problem for years but I am lucky that I go right back to sleep.

Wlhile at the store today I took a look at the Tylenol PM pills. They now come in about 5 different varities:
Tylenol PM capsules, tablets, gel pills, PM Rapid Release (2 forms of that).
I would suggest the tablets as they are an oblong shape and can be cut in half very easily. Do you have a pill cutter? they are cheap and very handy. Get one!
Start with a 1/2 pill and see how you do.

CJ–I am a nurse and have no use for doctors BUT–sometimes they are necessary evils. There is a medication for bladder control such as you are having and there are sleeping pills that do a wonderful job and are non habit forming–Ambien, I’ve taken them. Do yourself a favor and seek some help so you can sleep–not sleeping is the most miserable sensation. I went through the same thing about 2 years ago and ended up with something I said I would never take–hormone patches, now I sleep, have no hot flashes and am much easier to live with–I am 54. Good luck this weekend with the 5th wheel–have you ordered that New Horizon yet??

Thanks everyone, after the first of the year (things are too crazy right now) I am going to see a doctor about the bladder issue… and try and find out what is making me so ungodly thirsty all the time.

I suck water down all night long, can’t help it, I get so thirsty I can’t breathe. Sounds diabetic I know, I raised a diabetic child, but I’ve been tested.

Janna, LOL I’d love that New Horizon but I’m afraid it’s too much trailer for our truck to tow. I’m pretty sure we will be going with the Nuwa Hitchhiker Champagne when it’s available early next year.

I am a nurse. What you are describing sounds like diabetes insipidus. Diabetes insipidus is a pituitary problem that is easily fixed with taking medicine. It was given the name diabetes long before they knew what caused it because it imitated the other types of diabetes without the blood sugar problems.

HI CJ, I just stopped by quickly to say hi in amidst our packing. We have had trouble sleeping ever since we sold our house, but this past week we’ve both had a cup of Chammomile (sp?) tea in the evenings and are both sleeping like babies. I hope you find some relief and good news from the doc!
    Cheers!
