Sniffle sniffle
At nine o’clock sharp, Nate (the technician) from the Quilt Sampler showed up on my doorstep and made the very quick adjustment to my Bernina 830 and now my presser feet are perfectly aligned! Woohoo! I also got to see how the cover comes off of the 830, which is great. I like to remove my covers and clean inside all my machines between service calls.
It was fun to to visit with Nate, as he seemed really enthusiastic about the machine (and Bernina’s in general). I told him I envied him his job, as I LOVE playing with computers and sewing machines and would totally enjoy sewing machine repair. Too bad Bernina won’t let you self sponsor and become a traveling tech!
Poor Jim woke up with a nasty cold Saturday morning, so I made a huge pot of chicken and rice soup, loaded with garlic and cayenne peppers, poured it down him all weekend, and sent the leftovers along with him on Monday when he left for New Orleans.
Right after Nate left here this morning, I started sniffling… now my head feels clogged up… sigh. Guess I didn’t escape the cold germs. I hope I didn’t pass them onto Nate!
The gourmet garlic I ordered arrived via FedEx a bit ago, so sometime this week I need to get one of the beds ready and go out and plant it all. I also have six blueberry plants waiting to go in the ground, but I’ve yet to decide where I want them.
I’d planned to splurge today and call in an order for some sushi for my dinner tonight, Jim hates it and I adore the stuff… but I guess I won’t be going out until I’m sure I can’t spread any cold germs. I HATE when people don’t stay home when sick!

where did you order your garlic from? I want to plant some.
Sorry you got sick. Hope you are feeling better.
Keep warm.

I ordered German extra hardy, Tochliavri, and Chesnok Red. They’ll be mostly sold out this late in the year. Anytime you order garlic, order it a season before or you’ll never get it.
that is great that Nate made a house call and was so nice to show you how to remove the cover so you an clean out the lint in-between services. Glad to hear that your Bernina is working great now!
Can’t wait to see what you work on next, I just know you’ve been itching to get stitiching!
