A four legged grandson!
Jim and I are proud to announce that we will soon be new grandparents… of a darling little German Shepherd boy! He’s just a pipsqueak now, but they grow quickly and we will be welcoming him into our home the second week of April.
He’s entering our lives at a great time, as I know he (not to mention Jim and myself!) will have a whole lot of fun running around on the land as we turn it into a farm (and a home).
I’ve enjoyed chatting with his breeder very much, loved looking at her dogs, and since she actively trains and titles them, I have high hopes for this little guy. He’s coming out of Tidmores Rising Stars, in Oklahoma.
If you’re interested in that sort of thing, you can see his dam (click here) and his sire (click here). They are beautiful dogs! A very different look from our Bellen, who was almost pure black, with red paws, ears and a bit around her face. This little guy will most likely be Black and Tan, and he has a star on his chest!
Things will be a little crazy for us in a few weeks. We are leaving New Orleans on the 30th finally, we have to leave for the kids wedding a few days later, then hopefully we will be picking up our little guy a day or two later. I will only have a day or two to get the house “baby proofed”!

What a cute little guy.
YEAH – a new baby! When can I expect an invite to the baby shower? LOL
Sounds like things are moving “forward”…literally. I can sense your smile
Nothing warms the heart (or a bed) better than a dog! ROFLOL (or Jim?)

Isn’t he sweet? A baby shower! LOL what a great idea Cindy!
I’m green with envy! You are so lucky. I lost my GS in Oct 2010 and I still miss him so much. DH won’t have another dog
I hope you will post lots of pics of your new puppy when you have him safe and sound living with you.
Marianne, I told Jim the same thing after we lost Bellen. I didn’t think I had it in me to go through it again. I hope this little guy has a nice long life and I don’t have to think about it for some time. You will definitely be seeing LOTS of pictures once he enters our life!
Congratulations, CJ – he is truly adorable!
Thank you Jane, he is that!
congrats! he sure is cute

Thanks Karen!
Oh, his mother looks just like the German Shepherds we had when I was growing up (we had a male and then his son when he got older)! I’d love to have one again but we live too close to town. They are the BEST dogs! Congratulations!!

Thank you Chris, even though Jim and I have had a fair number of German Shepherds between us, even before we met and married both of us chose the solid blankets (black) with red “accents”. This will be the first Black and Tan one we’ve ever had.
The puppy looks awesome…he wil have a blast on your property
Thank you Karen, yes we anticipate many hours of fun with him out on the land. It is ideal to teach him tracking on!
He’s a cutie! Does he have a name?
His registed name is Nick, but we’ll give him a different call name. We’re leaning towards Cosmo at the moment
Really cute puppy. Chasing a puppy around will give you plenty of exercise!
Uh huh. LOL that it will!
Out of curiosity, will you be teaching this Cosmo how to open the door, rush down stairs and attack your guest?
Ha! Only if he first sees me rounded up and terrorized by an Australian Shepherd! LOL
