One row done!
And about halfway up the next. I think twelve squares will be about the right length, as I intend to crochet a border around all the blocks when I'm finished with them. This is going much faster than I thought it would, although it will come to a crawl here shortly, as I hope we'll be headed home soon and then there's a gazillion other things I'd rather be doing… and I have the monster quilt to finish.
The plant is still having some issues coming up to full power, so we've been delayed again. As of yesterday, we might be leaving on Saturday, but I'll have to wait until Jim wakes up to find out if that's still the plan.
Hopefully I will finish the second row on the afghan today!

I love those colors – never would have thought of those myself, but very nice!
Thanks Marcia! I just took one of each of most of the colors that were at the store, and I’m just randomly putting them together, without much regard for if they match or not!
Good thing you’re flexible about the move back home! And what a nice quiet little hobby you have to work on while Jim sleeps.

Yeah whenever! I minded the delays much more when I was home and Jim was here. Looks like the first week of February now anyway

Thanks Cindy!
Very pretty and the white background is wonderful. it gives more of a contemporary feel and is good with your round crocheted blocks. I really like the round ones. What a good idea that was CJ. Love them. Makes me feel like going back to crocheting once again. Have to stop myself though. Many projects already (quilts) Hope you are settled before long!

Thanks Carol, I am enjoying the change from sewing. I’d brought quite a bit of knitting along with me to do in the RV, but haven’t been able to get in the mood for it either. This just happened to trip my trigger!
Knitting and crocheting must be coming back. I’ve seen more wool ads in the last year and magazines dedicated to knitting. My sister in law knits as a hobby. She does Aran knitting and also plainer knits when she isn’t so motivated and or wants to watch a program. The girls learn to knit at school here in ireland.

Knitting as made quite a comeback here in the USA, I’m not sure about crocheting. I learned to crochet as a child, and when I lived in Germany, my landlady taught me to knit.
