My VitaMix arrived!
Yesterday my friend Dee stopped by to pick me up as she wanted to make a hay run… to Little Rock she said! It was closer to Stuttgart! She’d not been there before and we got a smidge lost, but I added a waypoint to the farm once we found it on my trusty GPS. No getting lost next time! Route 3 Box whatever doesn’t work too well on a GPS.
All in all a five-hour round trip, but it was a wonderful day for a drive, and there’s nothing I like better than tooling around on back roads out in the country.
It was dinnertime when we got back, so Dee ate with me while I lamented the fact that my new VitaMix hadn’t shown up while we were gone… but it had! The UPS guy had left it on the back porch and since he never does that, I didn’t think to look there. I checked my tracking number and that’s where it said it had been delivered. Good thing he noted that!
Sorry for the lousy picture. It’s still dark out and it’s always hard to take pictures in my kitchen anyway. Look at the size of the cookbook that came with it! I ran it through a cleaning cycle this morning, now that’s just darn cool! I can’t wait to try something in it.
I am down three pounds as of today, which is day eleven of my Primal/Paleo diet change. Tonight is my quilt group but I think I’m going to skip going out to dinner with them, as I’d be limited to a salad at the restaurant they chose, and I’m not a huge salad fan, at least not for dinner, as it never agrees with me that late in the day.
I am chomping at the bit hoping Jim gets to come home this weekend (for good, not a visit) as I am dying to go up and till the area on the land where we want to plant a spring garden. I know it’s a bit late to be tilling, but we weren’t here in the fall to turn the ground under. We should be able to rough till it now, then till it again right before planting and still get some of the benefits of turning all that stuff over.

The Vitamix is great but for smoothies a tribest blender is better. It’s a small but powerful little blender made specifically for making smoothies and green/veggie drinks. Check it out. And good luck. I think I’m going back to morning smoothies of orange juice, banana, fruit such as mango or or a frozen mix of strawberries, blackberries and raspberries and spirulina, trace minerals and flax seed oil. I take the rest of my vitamins with that delicious drink. My family thinks I’m crazy for drinking this but it works for me and is very healthy.
the blender I’m talking about is the tribest personal blender. I’ve had mine quite a few years and it’s still going strong. I bought it with the bigger container and attachments. It’s very useful.
Violet, your smoothie sounds yummy! I probably won’t be having any smoothies until I’m done with the ketosis stage of my diet, because the carb counts blows me out of ketosis on just the smoothie alone, and then I can’t eat any more veggies for the day! But I’m looking forward to them, I love smoothies!
I won’t be buying another blender for smoothies, having just plunked down $700 for the VitaMix
More than anything – happy weekend!!!
Thank you Cindy happy weekend to you too!
I love how the UPS people note where they left things now. It is so helpful. It was confusing to me last month when I read, “Left with customer man,” while I was at work one day. I knew my husband was at work and wondered where it actually ended up. It was on my dining room table when I got home and I realized “customer man” was my baby boy. He is 21. LOL
Too funny Mary! And yes it’s wonderful when they leave a note!
Congrats on your VitaMix! I’m hoping to order one next Friday. Have fun with all the new recipes you’ll get to try!

Awesome Cassandra, congratulations! It’s quite an impressive beast!
You should totally be a salesperson. Every single time you buy something new, I want it!!!
Hahaha Chris, I used to be in sales!
I have a VitaMix and love it! Making hot soup is marvelous, but I gotta tyell you, the smoothies are the best! Good Luck with your diet.
Thanks Mary, I am looking forward to trying soup in it as well.
