Tattlers!

I only got one block made yesterday!  I sewed all morning, then after lunch I headed out to the Bona Dea Trails for my two-mile walk.  I was in the mood for woods today instead of the lake, plus the wind had quite a bite to it and I was hoping the trees would help block it.

When I got back to the house, my box of Tattler Lids had arrived!  They ran a terrific one day sale earlier this month, and so I ordered another twenty-four dozen lids.  At some point, (probably when we move) I have to inventory all my canning jars and Tattler Lids and see where I’m at.  My goal is to have the Tattlers for all my jars instead of metal lids.  A) Because they’re re-usable, and B) because I plan to have a root cellar when we build the new house and plastic doesn’t rust.

tattlerlids_2_10_1Sadly, I have no earthly idea how many lids compared to jars I have.

I made myself a cup of coffee, sat down and the doorbell rang.  It was my former neighbor, who sold her house a couple of months ago.  She joined me in the living room and chatted for an hour, then surprised me by asking if she could go get her husband to come look at our house.  She’s mentioned several times to me that she likes it, but you know how that goes.  There went the rest of my afternoon!

We had no plans to put the house on the market yet, as we haven’t even completed the road into the land yet, all that’s been done is the initial dozing of the trees.  Our intent was to finish the road, build a shop, move all our stuff into the shop except for enough furniture to “stage” the house, then put it up for sale.  Can you imagine the chaos if they were to buy it and we needed to get out?  I managed all of three hours sleep just thinking about it… now I’m up slurping coffee.  Oh well!  I won’t worry about, it’s not likely it’ll happen anyway.

Today (on my whole three hours of sleep) I’m driving down to Hot Springs to finally pick up my Bernina 630.  She’s been gone a month!  I’m guessing I won’t get any blocks made today either!

Did I mention our Discover card got hacked again?  Someone bought themselves a nice new Dell computer on us.  Too bad for them Discover is so great about not holding you liable for fraudulent charges!

several months ago our credit card had expired and we got the new one sent to us shortly before that date – activated it and used it for 3 weeks when I got a message from the credit card company wanting to know if I had authorized a bus ticket in the country of Italy!! What! never been there – no I hadn’t – how the heck had that happened – had to cancel that one and get a new number — second time to get this account hacked in two years – they too take the charges off – I’m glad they text us to find out if they think there might be a problem
